Delta Air Lines is preparing for the surge of passengers traveling between Atlanta and San Juan, Puerto Rico from Thanksgiving through the winter season. Considering the projected heavy holiday travel between the two destinations, the legacy carrier has announced it will operate one of its four daily Atlanta-San Juan flights using the Airbus A330-300 aircraft from December 21, 2019, to March 31, 2020.

The airline will transition to the Airbus A330-300, from Dec. 21 to March 31. The Airbus A330-300 aircraft can accommodate a total of 293 passengers, with 219 seats in Main Cabin, 40 in Comfort + and 34 in First Class.

Delta’s general manager, Agustin Durand stated: “From Thanksgiving through the winter season, visitors flock to Puerto Rico to experience its vibrant culture, biodiversity, gastronomy and hospitality. These flights connect those customers to the vast number of holiday festivities, which culminate with the San Sebastian Street Festival.

Millions of travelers visiting San Juan each year are welcomed with an array of picturesque landscapes, breath-taking sandy beaches and exciting nightlife. Recently, the island of Puerto Rico was recognized as the number one destination in The New York Times’ influential “Places to Go List” 2019.

Durand expressed his pride in Puerto Rico topping “Places to Go List” 2019: “We are proud to be part of that movement saying: Puerto Rico is open for business. Delta has served San Juan for 66 years, making it the market with the longest uninterrupted service in Latin America and the Caribbean and we are pleased to offer business and leisure customers the best in operational reliability and customer service.”

According to Delta, holiday travel to the vibrant city of San Juan is on the rise and the carrier is more than happy to cater to customer demand for these nonstop flights. Flying nonstop is an excellent idea as it offers travelers easy access to Puerto Rico’s vibrant culture, festivities, inspiring street art, breath-taking sandy beaches, biodiversity, cuisine, cosy cafes, exciting nightlife and warm hospitality.
